How to reach the property: From Nadi International Airport fly to Savusavu via Sunflower Airlines or Air Fiji, then a ground transfer (approximately 30 minutes) to the hotel.

For optimum privacy, the 25 bures are nestled throughout the 17-acres of ocean front and tropical gardens. In addition, the oceanfront pool is the perfect place to start unwinding and just steps to the beautiful aquamarine ocean waters. There is always a new adventure just waiting for you each and every day of your stay here. Moreover, you will never get tired of experiencing the mesmerizing sunsets. All meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the daily tariff.

Cousteau's has a world class PADI dive center and their high speed dive boat transports divers to some of Fiji's best dive sites. The resort's on site naturalist and marine biologist broaden guests' understanding of the resort's precious environment as they lead nature hikes, star gazing strolls, bird watching expeditions and snorkeling excursions.


This is also the perfect place for a family vacation. The resort has much to offer children. "Bula Camp" is for children under 9 years of age. Kids are welcome from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Having a full time "activity director" for the Bula Camp and qualified camp host means everyone enjoys their vacation. The staffs' goal for the children is for them to understand and to appreciate everyone and everything in the world and learn what they can do to help conserve and protect the environment.

Accommodations: The Fijian style thatched-roof bures are very spacious, and you will be treated to either a magnificent ocean view or a lush tropical garden view. Each bure features a private deck with deck chairs, king size bed and one or two day beds a small sitting area with a desk, complimentary mini bar, coffee/tea making facilities, robes and hairdryer. Beautifully tiled, large luxury bathrooms with oversized shower. There are no televisions or telephones in any of the bures.

5 - Oceanfront Split-level Bure: These are the newest units and are the most private as they are located on the far end of the resort offering spectacular ocean views. 1 King bed, 2 day beds, wet bar, split-level deck.

2 - Oceanfront Two-Bedroom Bure: Offer 2 separate bedrooms ideal for families. 1 King bed, 2 twin beds and 1 day bed. Large oceanfront deck.


10 - Oceanfront Bure: Units offer an unobstructed view of the ocean from your private deck. 1 King bed, 1 day bed.

Restaurant: A beautifully designed open-air dining/bar bure with a sixty-foot high temple roof. Dining is also available poolside or at the end of the pier for a romantic candlelight dinner. The restaurant specializes in contemporary Fijian, South Pacific and International cuisine. The bar serves an array of exotic drinks in addition to a variety of wines.

Diving: The large number of identified dive sites, plus the many sites still to be explored, offer divers the best diving the region has to offer. From sites 10 minutes away, to the world-class Namena reefs, Cousteau's offers a variety of diving for novices and experts alike. Fiji offers the largest variety of fish and coral anywhere in the world. Small reef dwellers and large ocean pelagics (barracuda, tuna, and sharks) swim among the colorful reefs.

For beginners, the expert dive staff will be your ambassadors to the underwater world. Expert divers can do their own thing.

PADI (professional association of diving instructors) certified courses and Nitrox fills.

L'Aventure Dive Operation: L'Aventure, the 37' custom-built, enclosed cabin dive vessel is equipped with the latest GPS plotter, color depth sounder and radar, catering for 12 divers, individual gear lockers, a freshwater shower, and complimentary soft drinks and cookies. It cruises at 16-18 knots. Each morning, the boat leaves the resort at about 8:30 a.m. and returns for lunch around 12:30. Full day trips, including a picnic lunch, are organized whenever possible, returning to the resort around 4:00 p.m.

Dive Certification: Resort Course:
The resort course enables you to dive with the resort's team after just a few hours of training.

Full Certification Course: For full certification, a medical certificate is required. The course takes 4-5 days and referrals are accepted with the proper documentation. Rental equipment is all U.S. Diver with Luxfer 80 c.f. alloy tanks and standard K valves. Divers should bring their own DIN adapter if required. The resort carries only service spares for U.S. Diver equipment.

Advanced Open Water Course
For those already certified, something more adventurous is offered. Complete any 5 advanced dives: Night Dive, Drift Dive, Underwater Photography Dive, Boat Dive, Underwater Naturalist Dive, and Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive.

The minimum age for diving is 10 years.

DIVE SITES:

Canyons
15 - 80 feet
Swim through beautiful grottos of hard coral extending into vast unexplored underwater canyons.
Reef Sharks rest in the grottos.

Shark Alley
A maze of swim throughs, overhangs and chambers hiding white tip reef sharks resting on sandy bottoms. Giant Mouri wrasse and grouper can be found hiding around the next corner.

Nugget
Two coral heads - one a myriad of soft corals surrounded by schools of fairy basslets, masked banner fish, leaf fish, with jacks and barracuda circling. The second coral head is covered in golden soft corals. Lion fish, scorpion fish with nesting trigger fish and moray eels are abundant.

Goldilocks
15 - 70 feet
Great diversity of hard and soft corals. Very abundant reef fish population. Nice dive because you can swim completely around the edge of the reef in a 30-40 minute dive.

Jacksons
40 - 120 feet
Spectacular wall with gigantic sea fans at depths of 90 feet. Finish the dive among luxurious purple soft corals at 40-60 ft.

Fingers
20 - 70 feet
Beautiful spur and groove reef system, jutting fingers of hard coral alternating with high flow grooves. Painted crayfish, giant tridacna clams, and eagle rays.

Light House
15 - 90 feet
Large aggregation of fish - groupers and snappers. You can see spawning of these large fish at this site. Very large group spawning site of other smaller reef fish. Octopus. Good deep dive - 100ft - you will see large fish.

Mystery Reef
An isolated reef scattered with coral heads covered in multi-colored soft corals, spanish mackerels, coral trout and unicorn fish.

Hole in the Wall
Vertical drop off supporting huge gorgonian fans. Large tuna, spotted sweetlips, mackerel, barracuda, with bronze whalers lurking in the depths below.

Big Blue
Spectacular drop off with giant gorgonians covered with feather stars. Perfect place to watch for sea turtles and large fish.

Alice in Wonderland
40 - 60 feet
Open water large patch reef. Large mushroom-shaped corals underneath which you can often see small reef sharks. Up current end has good flow and huge aggregations of reef fish and larger pelagic life.

Nsonisoni Pass
Drift dive along a wall covered with every variety of pristine hard and soft corals imaginable. Swim across the passage to the purple bommies, a mass of purple soft corals fed by the nutrient-rich Koro Sea waters. Large barracuda, circling gray reef sharks and white tips cruise everywhere.

Namena Island
One of the world's top dive sites!
A small island 20 miles to the south of Savusavu surrounded by mile after mile of unexplored reefs. Seemingly bottomless drop-offs, multi-colored soft corals and perfect coral gardens support an abundance of marine life. This is the place to see the big fish cruising in from the depths of the Koro Sea. Barracuda, spanish mackerel, dog-tooth tuna, mantas and large sharks can patrol these reefs at any time.

Barracuda Point
35-130ft
Beginning on a reef wall just off the coast of the resort, this dive involves swimming along a hard-coral reef finger to join a school of 50-60 resident barracuda. Be on the lookout for hammerheads and schools of batfish as well.

Dreadlocks
15-65ft
In the middle of Savusavu bay, this site is home to a lavish array of multicolored hard and soft coral as well as lionfish, harlequin filefish and butterfly fish.
